School Dog

We are pleased to share that Wendy, the brown cockapoo dog, will be joining us in school on Wednesday's from 14th January.

A full risk assessment has been completed, see attached.

Wendy is a 7 year-old cockapoo, who has had over 4 years of experience being a school dog. We have researched and seen the many benefits of having a school dog and what they can teach us. Also caring for an animal meets our Core Christian values of Love, Service and Belonging.

Wendy has public liability insurance that means she will be able to come into school, and she regularly goes to the vet for yearly vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.

She will work with some children who have been highlighted to have interventions with her, following discussions with parent's/carers and will always be accompanied by a member of staff and on the lead when moving around the school.
